WeJoySing Participates in a BHAG!!!
What's That?

by Mrs. Nancy, North Canton, Ohio

Mrs Lynnette and Friends

Perhaps you have heard of the “Parable of the Talents.” In this biblical story, a man who is going on a journey entrusts each of his three slaves with a specific amount of money. Upon his return, the man is pleased to discover that two of the slaves have doubled the money that was entrusted to them.

In mid-April, members of the Reynoldsburg United Methodist Church were given an opportunity to “live out” this parable. During a Sunday service, adults and children alike were astonished when they were given envelopes containing a sum of money! The pastor then challenged everyone to use their unique talents, abilities, and imaginations to grow and multiply the money within a seven-week period. The plan was for all the proceeds to be given away in areas of local, state, national, and international mission/relief efforts. The pastor called this project a BHAG (pronounced BEE-hag).......that is, a Big, Hairy, Audacious Goal!

You may be wondering....What does this story have to do with WeJoySing? Well, WeJoySing’s very own “Mrs. Lynnette” Kline is a member of this church family. Mrs. Lynnette chose to use her wonderful gifts and talents as a WeJoySing instructor in a special way. For her BHAG project, Mrs. Lynnette planned and led a WeJoySing demonstration class! This free class was open to any parents/caregivers and children who wished to attend. Participants would have a special opportunity to experience the joy of WeJoySing, and donations would be accepted for the BHAG project.

Mrs Lynnette and FriendsMrs. Lynnette reports that the class was a great success! She says, “Children of all ages, infant through preschool, attended. We did a variety of songs and activities – bounces, finger plays, taps, movement exploration activities, and more! We had so much fun – no one (including myself) wanted it to be over!” An added bonus is that due to the generosity of the attendees, Mrs. Lynnette was able to increase her initial “seed money” by over 100%!! Parents and children left class that night with smiles on their faces. And that, after all, is what WeJoySing is all about – experiencing the JOY of music with those special little ones in our lives!

A Note from Mrs. Jo-
WeJoySing is pleased to participate in mission and outreach activities such as this “BHAG” project. You may be interested to know that, after paying back the initial seed money, the members of this church raised over $50,000 in this project! 100% of this money is being donated to outreach projects such as local food distribution for the needy, Hurricane Katrina relief, and the construction of a church in another country.

Our instructors love to share the fun and joy of WeJoySing!! If you are interested in a free WeJoySing demonstration class for your mom’s group, club, church group, or other organization, we would love to make that happen! Simply contact us at (614) 868-0107.

"Sing"cerely,
Mrs. Jo
